100 Black Men of Chattanooga's  LIFE (Living In Full Expectation) Academy for Young Men  is program  designed to build future leaders in our  society through varies academic and cultural activities and workshops. Also this is a way that the 100 Black Men of Chattanooga will incorporate the Mentoring the 100 Way…Across A Lifetime philosophy. Each young man and parent is given an agreement which states that we will be working with these young men from August to August, that parent participation is mandatory, and we expect them to be involved from beginning to end. Each parent is given a schedule of events and trips, and told  the young men will meet twice a month on Saturday. Each young man is presented with a certificate and membership card to the Academy.

We collaborate with companies public and private, nonprofits,  civic and fraternal organizations from around the region to discuss topics centered around successful academic performance, character development, life, social, and responsible  decision making skills and community service that results in positive behavior that is preparing them for a multicultural and global society.

This past fall the young men took a trip to Tennessee State University for a campus visit that included a lecture on what it takes to qualify for college, tour of Nashville, lunch at CiCi’s Pizza, Kids Day Activities at LP Field (Titan’s Stadium), tailgate party sponsored by Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and a football game.

In February the young men visited Huntsville, AL where they had an opportunity to tour the U.S. Space Center to hear a lecture  on the history of space flight and participated  in a ride through the Mars landscape and climb a lunar wall followed by lunch at Ryan's.

Later that day the young men took a tour of the Alabama A & M campus where they had an opportunity to bowl at the new student center afterwards attending a men's and women's basketball game where they had an opportunity to participate in a halftime youth basketball game.
